Some topics related to families and communities will need constant updating to stay relevant to current issues in parenting, education, etc. The text provides accurate depictions of the topics and theories covered and leaves room for interpretation and forming opinions through "Check in Time!" sections with reflection questions. There is no index or glossary included, though terms are defined in the context of reading. There are some areas covered in my course that I was not able to use this text for: Maslow's Theories and Infant and Early Childhood Mental Health.
